Glossary
The warmup ramp is the week-by-week schedule of daily sending volume a mailbox follows during warmup, with each step gated by the reputation reading.
A ramp is a plan, not a promise. Week one sends a handful of messages a day. Each following week raises the cap, and by the end of the cycle a healthy mailbox is near its target. The step up happens only when the reading says the mailbox can take it.
Two things make a ramp honest. The first is that the numbers are per mailbox, never per domain or per client, because reputation is kept per mailbox. The second is that a step can go backwards. A ramp that only rises is a spreadsheet; a ramp that responds to the reading is a control loop.
On the site, the ramp is shown hatched until a customer program has published a measured week. Targets are targets until they are read.
Questions
It holds at the last healthy cap and the cause is looked for: a wrong DNS record, a complaint, a burst of bounces. The mailbox does not move up until the reading recovers.
