Sales handoff

The sales handoff is the moment an interested reply is placed in front of a salesperson, in Slack, in the CRM and on a shared calendar, with enough context to call while the thread is still open.

A reply is a signal, and signals go cold fast. The value of the whole system is realized in the minute after someone says yes. So the handoff is engineered like everything else: at the moment a reply is classified as interested, the sales team gets it on their phones, in the CRM, and on the calendar, within 60 seconds.

The notice carries the company, the person, the profile fit, the message they answered and what they said. Enough to call without opening anything else.

This is the actual product. Not the emails. A warm conversation in front of a real salesperson while it is still warm.

Questions

What if nobody is available to call?

The lead stays on the board with its state and the time it arrived, and the agent's approved reply keeps the thread alive. The measurement shows how long each lead waited, so the gap is visible rather than hidden.

This term belongs to the outbound engineering glossary. The practice is defined on the category page.

Three screens, then thirty minutes with the person who builds the system. If outbound is not worth running for you, you hear that too.
